Bourgogne Les Belles Côtes 2019 blanc Pierre Boisson | Burgundy

Domaine Anne Boisson 's Les Belles Côtes cuvée is certainly one of the finest generic Burgundies produced in the Côte d'or. Like most great winemakers, Anne Boisson doesn't consider this to be a small wine, since it undergoes the same winemaking and ageing in barrels for over a year as the Meursault .

Philippe Mischler sommelier at Mundovin : What makes this Chardonnay so special is that it comes from parcels located at the foot of the slope, on the renowned terroirs to the north of the village of Meursault. The terroirs are essentially clay-limestone, and the vines have been worked biodynamically since the 1990s. A forerunner in Meursault, just like Anne Claude Leflaive, whose chef he ran alongside his own wine estate for a couple of years.

On the nose, the wine reveals great energy right from the start. Notes of roasted apple, pear au vin and hints of white flowers.

The palate is full-bodied and fleshy, but with great finesse. Notes of ripe lemon, white pepper and verbena stimulate the taste buds throughout. The finish ends on lightly toasted notes. A Burgundy that almost reaches the level of a Meursault Village.
