Wine Description

Antoine Lienhardt's Meursault from Sous la Velle is made from the estate's youngest vines, which are still 30 years old. It has all the characteristics you'd expect from a Meursault from this climate. It is clearly a great Burgundy wine in its own right. The terroir is essentially composed of limestone. This is what gives the wine its mineral identity. The vineyard's ultra environmentally-friendly growing methods bring incomparable aromatic concentration. This half-hectare parcel produces wines with extra flesh and density.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Antoine Lienhardt's Meursault Sous la Velle is extraordinary in many ways. It gives off a sensation of extreme purity, and its length on the palate is fantastic. The winegrower has not only worked the soil, but also researched the ageing process, which is as respectful as possible of the wine's authenticity. The winemaker uses only ¼ of new barrels, so as not to over-mark the wine and find the most beautiful harmony possible.

The nose is subtle and pure, with notes of verbena, lime blossom, eucalyptus and apple. After decanting, more gourmand notes emerge, with a hint of fresh almond, orange zest and gingerbread.

The palate is full of diverse and varied flavors, with plenty of sparkle. The sensation of purity continues throughout the tasting, with notes of pear, orange and grapefruit. The finish is simply divine, with exceptional persistence.
