Wine Description

Champagne Aÿ Grand Cru from the Bérêche et Fils wine estate comes from the terroirs of the Marne valley. The vines are located on the "Brise Pot" and "Froide Terre" parcels. These plots lie on chalk and face south-west. The blend is made up of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, then aged for 78 months in vats. This is clearly one of the champagnes that expresses itself with the greatest finesse.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Grand Cru Aÿ from domaine Bérêche et fils is one of Champagne's current gems. It is one of the most exclusive cuvées, with only 3,800 bottles produced each year. The main assets of this grand cru are its capacity for ageing and the extreme finesse of its bubbles.

On the nose, the wine opens with notes of chalk, white flowers, lemon and fresh fennel. After a fine opening, we discover that the champagne expresses itself on warmer notes such as toasted almond, brioche and a light peaty touch.

On the palate, this extremely luminous champagne reveals itself discreetly, little by little. The minerality that emerges gives it a very special energy and an exhilarating sensation of freshness. The aromas are clean and complex, and the finish is magnificent.
