Catherine and Claude Maréchal 's Savigny-lès-Beaune Vieilles Vignes is made, as the name suggests, from old Pinot Noir vines - the oldest of which are up to 60 years old! With a style faithful to the great balanced wines of the Côte de Beaune, it far exceeds its status as a communal appellation.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : At Domaine Catherine et Claude Maréchal, precision of tone and precision of fruit are the hallmarks of true winemaker's wines, such as this remarkable Savigny lès Beaune Vieilles Vignes, whose finesse of expression and quiet depth are reminiscent of certain Chambolle-Musigny wines.

The nose opens with bright red fruit, enhanced by a background of licorice. The impressive concentration of the bouquet makes the wine "pinot", without losing the deep, almost earthy character of the terroir.

On the palate, juicy substance and well-balanced tannins melt onto the palate with sensuality. Fruit and noble spices express themselves with remarkable freshness and depth. On the finish, the admirably complex persistence of the terroir's imprint will astound more than one seasoned taster. Ideal for blind tasting!
