Wine Description

Domaine Chavy Chouet's Pommard 1er cru Les Chanlins lies just above the legendary 1er cru Les Rugiens. The plot is steep and rocky, spread over clay and limestone terroirs. It's a very small parcel, covering 0.30 hectares, and not very well known among Pommard enthusiasts.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Pommard 1er cru Les Chanlins is a wine that gives taut mineral expressions, racy tannins and great aromatic depth. This requires a few years' cellaring to allow the wine to mature. Romaric Chavy 's ambitions are clear: to produce a quality wine equivalent to the Rugiens.

The nose opens with notes of black fruit, licorice and a hint of cedar. After opening for 2 hours, the wine offers a broader aromatic palette. With smoky, leathery notes, while retaining a lovely fruitiness.

The palate is full-bodied, with intense substance and well-presented tannins. This wine reveals great potential. Clearly not completely ready to drink, but already very pleasant. Still, this wine needs 4-5 years to discover its full potential.
