Wine Description

The Puligny-Montrachet Au Paupillot from the Clos du Moulin aux Moines wine estate is a white Burgundy of great finesse, produced from a parcel located to the north of the famous village of Puligny-Montrachet, in the direction of Meursault. This climat, named after the poplar trees that once lined the nearby stream, is an exceptional terroir that produces wines of great precision, combining finesse, complexity and minerality. This wine stands out for its ability to express all the purity of its terroir while offering an elegant, delicate tasting experience.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: The Au Paupillot climat benefits from an ideal geographical situation, situated to the north of the village of Puligny-Montrachet, close to the border with Meursault. This terroir is particularly sought-after for its ability to produce elegant, complex wines, thanks to well-draining clay-limestone soils and a favorable exposure that allows the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. The name of this climate refers to the historical presence of poplars that thrived in this humid environment, close to the stream that once ran alongside the parcel.

The nose is highly complex, combining delicate floral aromas of white flowers such as acacia and honeysuckle with fruity notes of pear and white peach, supported by slightly mineral and citrus nuances. The aromatic bouquet is fresh, floral and elegant, revealing great depth and a perfect balance between the different expressions.

On the palate, the wine has great finesse. The attack is clean, followed by a perfectly balanced structure, where freshness mingles with a silky, soft texture. The minerality, typical of the Puligny-Montrachet terroir, reveals itself in a discreet saline framework, giving the wine a lovely vibrancy. The finish is long, clean and awakens the palate with precision and energy.
