Wine Description

Domaine Thillardon's Moulin-à-Vent "Alizés " is a wine from the emblematic Beaujolais appellation. The vines are planted on pink granite soils with a south-east exposure, ideal for ripening the grapes. Winemaking is natural, using whole bunches with semi-carbonic maceration, followed by ageing in vats and old barrels for a year. This process aims to preserve the expression of terroir and produce a wine without artifice.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Moulin-à-Vent "Alizés" is a wine that seduces with its elegance and freshness, with an authentic, modern style. It faithfully represents the minimalist, qualitative approach of the Thillardon brothers, who seek to express the truth of their terroir in every bottle.

The first nose opens with bright aromas of red fruits, including morello cherry and fresh raspberry, supported by a hint of blackberry. On aeration, floral notes of violet and peony emerge, accompanied by discreet spicy nuances such as cinnamon and a touch of white pepper.

The palate is lively and crisp, marked by controlled acidity that gives a sensation of freshness. The mid-palate reveals a fine, delicate texture, with silky, almost melting tannins, but present to structure the whole. Fruity flavors dominate, reminiscent of candied cherries and redcurrants, while a light touch of aromatic herbs such as thyme and a hint of menthol prolong the complexity.
