Pouilly-Fuissé 2021 Dominique Cornin | Burgundy

Domaine Dominique Cornin's Pouilly Fuissé is located on a terroir with a regular, pronounced slope that provides good drainage for the vines. Its south-easterly exposure favors fruit concentration. The terroir is clayey and rests on a limestone bedrock typical of Fuissé wines.

Romain Cornin has succeeded in revealing his terroir with the utmost precision, without much intervention, and that's what's so admirable.

On the nose, the wine is very energetic, with the purity of fruit and a strong mineral imprint. Notes of chalk, gunflint and hints of granny apple, lime blossom and eucalyptus. A wine of great complexity, even revealing hints of lavender after oxygenation.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and develops straightforward citrus flavors such as grapefruit, tangerine and yellow lemon. The concentration and texture of this Pouilly perfectly balance the whole, so that the wine remains both greedy and energetic. The finish is dominated by a saline minerality that gives the wine incredible length.
