Wine Description

The "Mon Rouge" cuvée from the Jean-François Ganevat wine estate is a vin de négoce made from Mâconnais Pinot Noir grapes. It's these vines, still untouched by any modern work, that caught Fanfan's eye. This Pinot Noir comes from magnificent Mâconnais plots with yields of no more than 30 hectolitres per hectare. A cuvée de négoce whose grapes are bought from winemakers who share the same values and vision of natural vine growing.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The "Mon Rouge" cuvée is a natural wine produced by Jean-François Ganevat , who wanted to make a Pinot Noir with good substance and density, but also with a very digestible, gourmet side. A wine to be enjoyed at a temperature of around 15°C for even greater pleasure.

On the nose, the wine opens with notes of black cherry and camphor, as well as magnificent hints of sweet spices such as cinnamon and star anise.

The palate is full-bodied, with notes of ripe black fruit delivered without heaviness. Biodynamic viticulture adds energy and length on the palate. A great wine from Fanfan, certainly one of the best I've tasted in the last 5 years...
