Jean-Claude Buecher 's Crémant Reflets Brut Nature is a benchmark Crémant d'Alsace. Made from a blend of equal parts Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Pinot Auxerrois, this Crémant draws its balance from the diversity of Alsace's terroirs. Most of the grapes come from old vines planted over forty years ago on the granitic plots of Walbach, on a geological base combining marl, sandstone and granite. This mosaic of soils contributes to the structure and precision of the wine, which the Domaine Jean Claude Buecher reveals through careful winemaking. The hand harvest is followed by a slow, gentle pressing before fermentation on indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks and complete malolactic fermentation. The wine then rests for 4 to 5 years on laths before being disgorged without the addition of liqueur.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Reflets cuvée shows just how much a Crémant d'Alsace can gain in depth with long ageing on laths and rigorous management of the wine through to disgorgement. The choice of Brut Nature highlights the quality of the raw material, while time refines the bubbles and brings extraordinary elegance. Jean Claude Buecher 's vision is fully expressed in this gourmet crémant!
The nose is open and full of finesse, carried by the delicate fruitiness of apple and pear, complemented by hints of fresh citrus.
On the palate, the fresh attack reveals the tension typical of granite. Flavors of citrus and white-fleshed fruit stretch out over a smooth, well-balanced body, where the finesse of the effervescence envelops the palate in beautiful volume. The dosage of this cuvée Reflets en Brut Nature gives the finish a beautiful salivation and a persistent elegance that naturally calls for another sip.
