Wine Description

Jean-Claude Buecher 's Crémant Rosé Murmure Brut Nature is born on the granite soils of Walbach, an area renowned in Alsace for the tension and precision it imparts to old Pinot Noir vines. The poor, draining soils of this terroir located in the Wintzenheim area, and in the immediate vicinity of the Grand Cru Hengst, favor the precise expression of fruit and the naturally assertive structure of the wine. Domaine Jean Claude Buecher is unique in Alsace, as the Buecher family is the only one to produce only Crémant d'Alsace. The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed before fermentation on indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The second fermentation in bottle is followed by a prolonged ageing period of at least 24 months on laths, before disgorging without adding any sugar. The time spent on the lees refines the wine, while the choice of Brut Nature preserves the straightforwardness and identity of the terroir.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Jean Claude Buecher 's Crémant Rosé Murmure Brut Nature is a real revelation. At last, a Crémant Rosé that lives up to all its promises! The choice of dosage in Brut Nature truly highlights the search for balance and finesse so dear to Domaine Jean Claude Buecher, far from heavy or demonstrative profiles. The arrival of Franck Buecher at the wine estate has further enhanced the quality of the cuvées, thanks to careful attention to just the right ripeness, purity of fruit and brilliantly prolonged ageing. The richness and volume conferred by ageing do not detract from the finesse of the bubbles or the clarity of the terroir.

The nose opens with delicate notes of red berries and floral accents. Between redcurrant, wild strawberry and fresh violet, more complex hints of mandarin peel and almond cream emerge.

On the palate, the full, vinous body is sustained by the sensation of freshness emanating from the particularly fine effervescence. The clear tension of the granite stretches out the flavors of kirsch cherry, almond cream and citrus zest, while discreet tannins prolong the assertive finish.
