Wine Description

Domaine Joblot 's Givry 1er Cru Clos du Cellier aux Moines is one of the most famous premier crus. It is located to the north of the village on south-facing clay-limestone slopes. This is the Clos that benefits from the most sunshine during the day, enabling it to achieve the right ripeness and great delicacy.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Clos du Cellier aux Moines is a top-class Givry with a very balanced profile. Its unique harmony is due not only to its terroir, but also to the meticulous winemaking process. Indeed, the wine is made in barrels, 50% of which are new, giving it silky, velvety tannins from the very first years.

On the nose, the wine offers a complex aromatic palette, with an explosive trio of fruit, flowers and spices. This trio is complemented by hints of smoke and vanilla, accompanying the wine into a comforting universe.

The mouthfeel of this Givry Clos du Cellier aux Moines is divine, a real caress for the palate. The entire olfactory universe is repeated on the palate, with a lovely acidic structure that carries the wine through to a sapid, mineral finish.
