Wine Description

This cuvée is a blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer from the Gloeckelsberg Grand Cru. Jérôme François, the wine estate's winemaker, strives to work as naturally as possible. He uses horses to work the vines and follows the precepts of biodynamic viticulture. For this cuvée, he wanted to make a Burgundian-style wine, as fresh and refined as possible, while retaining the deep personality of Gloeckelsberg.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Very few wine lovers know about the Grange de l'Oncle Charles wine estate. The fact that it's so young has a lot to do with it. Indeed, it was only in 2014 that the wine estate was created, and it's been growing ever since. The cuvée Jeu de Vent is one of the latest additions to its range. The wine reveals a very interesting profile, combining freshness and density. To my knowledge, there is no complantation of this type, especially with vines over 60 years old. A rare cuvée to be drunk young.

The nose is very flattering, with notes of dried flowers, pink berries and white pepper. Freshness emerges after decanting, with pleasant notes of redcurrant and raspberry.

The palate is full-bodied, with almost non-existent tannins but very good density. There are notes of tart fruit and a highly original, slightly spicy touch provided by the pinot gris.

A superb cuvée for blind tasting!
