Wine Description

Domaine de la Pousse d'Or 's Chambolle Musigny 1er cru Les Amoureuses is considered the Holy Grail for lovers of great Burgundy wines. The terroir is composed of red clay resting on a fissured limestone bedrock, where the roots are quick to creep up and draw minerals from deep within the soil. Ageing for 15 months in oak barrels, 30% of which are new, lightly coats these complex juices with their fine tannic grain.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : "Les Amoureuses" is a premier cru from Chambolle-Musigny, considered to be the purely feminine and elegant wine. Make no mistake, this is a qualitative assessment. Above all, Les Amoureuses is a wine of incomparable complexity and precision. It has the intensity of a Musigny with the minerality of a Bonne-Mares. A unique, magical wine that must be tasted once in a lifetime.

The nose here is ultra well-defined, with an intense floral expression. Notes of peony, violet and hints of fresh raspberry and blackcurrant. After a few seconds, beautiful mineral and smoky notes appear on the nose.

On the palate, the attack is both fine and powerful. This is one of the greatest Pinot Noirs. It's impossible to sum up a tasting like this in just a few words - it has to be experienced.
