Wine Description

Cuvée 910, created by Julien Guillot at the Les Vignes du Maynes wine estate, stands out for its deep log in the viticultural history of Southern Burgundy. Inspired by medieval traditions, this cuvée embodies the authenticity and purity of a wine made from a rare blend of three grape varieties: Gamay, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. This unexpected marriage underscores the wine's originality, while paying homage to the viticultural practices of the monks of Cluny Abbey, who cultivated these lands as early as the 10th century.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Grown on a historic 6-hectare vineyard, the vines are rooted in shallow clay-limestone soils (5 to 50 cm), enriched by hard Bathonian limestone and calcite-aragonite crystals. These unique geological features give the grapes remarkable minerality and exceptional aromatic finesse. Yields are strictly limited to 20 hectoliters per hectare, ensuring optimal concentration and a faithful expression of the terroir.

The nose reveals bewitching notes of crisp red fruits such as Morello cherry and raspberry, combined with delicate floral aromas such as old rose and violet. Mineral touches, reminiscent of the limestone of its terroir, add subtle depth. A hint of undergrowth and sweet spices appears with aeration, adding a gourmet dimension.

On the palate, the attack is lively and energetic, immediately revealing a silky texture and well-controlled freshness. Gamay offers intense fruity flavors, while Pinot Noir provides elegant structure and remarkable finesse. Chardonnay adds a discreet roundness and a touch of vibrant acidity. Minerality, the signature of the terroir, envelops the palate with a saline, chalky sensation, sublimating the complexity of this wine.
