Wine Description

Maison Valette 's Mâcon-Villages is a cult cuvée, produced on the wine estate's largest parcel. The Chardonnay vines are grown using organic and biodynamic methods, with manual labor and horse-drawn plowing. A remarkable reflection of the fabulous conditions of the Mâcon Villages terroir from which it comes, the grapes have drawn on the essence of the clay-limestone soils typical of Burgundy and the sunny conditions of this parcel. Ageing on lees in stainless steel vats has preserved the expression of this terroir beyond the 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 vintages blended here.

Phillippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Renowned worldwide for its white wines from another world, Maison Valette embodies Burgundy in a different light. More deeply rooted in its terroir than ever, this Mâcon Villages cuvée embodies the distinctive Valette style, where harmonious blending reveals a profile between amplitude and saline minerality.

On the nose, the wine expresses itself very easily, seducing with notes of honeysuckle, lemon and greengage. On aeration, a few buttery aromas characteristic of yeast autolysis can be detected.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, opening onto a fluid, gourmet texture. The palate is awakened by yellow fruit aromas supported by an invigorating acid framework. Retroolfaction reveals mineral touches, heralding a fruit-filled finish with lingering salinity.
