Wine Description

The Riesling Wiebelsberg Grand Cru from the Marc Kreydenweiss wine estate is one of three Grand Crus located in the commune ofAndlau. Its terroir consists mainly of highly ferruginous sandstone. The vines face south-east and the slope is relatively steep. Grass cover is maintained to avoid water stress in the event of intense heat, which is not uncommon in Alsace in summer.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Riesling Grand Cru Wiebelsberg is a pure, airy Riesling with a delicate profile . Antoine Kreydenweiss has opted for a totally sulfur-free winemaking process, with extensive ageing in old foudres. A great vertical Riesling armed to face the next 20 years with class.

On the nose, the wine reveals notes of acacia, jasmine and hints of lemongrass. After a few minutes of oxygenation, the sensation of freshness is reinforced by mineral touches and subtle hints of pineapple.

On the palate, the wine unfurls a fine, gourmet body. It's like biting into fresh fruit. The flavors are fresh, with hints of greengage, lemon and ginger. The goldsmith's precision on the finish carries the wine far and wide.
