Wine Description

Champagne Marguet 's Bouzy Grand Cru is one of the wine estate's most distinctive and racy cuvées. Made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, this Blanc de Noirs comes from the southern slopes of Bouzy, an emblematic village classified as a Grand Cru, renowned for the strength and depth it gives to this grape variety. The pure chalk soils give the wine its characteristic minerality and structure. The cuvée is produced as Brut Nature, to allow the natural density of the fruit to express itself without make-up. Benoît Marguet cultivates his vines biodynamically, using horse-drawn ploughing, plant preparations and essential oils where necessary. Winemaking is carried out without superfluous inputs, in foudres, with long ageing on lees, to offer a Champagne that is precise, deep and faithful to the identity of the place.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Champagne Marguet 's Bouzy Grand Cru is a deeply rooted, racy and upright white Champagne. This cuvée stands out for its intense expression without ever lacking elegance, and is a natural fit with the region's great wines. Even if its tension on the palate suggests a brilliant future, it is already seductive today, with a great aromatic clarity.

On the nose, the wine reveals clear aromas of red fruit, dominated by raspberry and cherry. A discreet hint of yeast, linked to prolonged ageing on the lees, adds subtle depth to the whole. The aromatic expression remains precise, straightforward, without excess, true to the spirit of Brut Nature as practiced by the Champagne Marguet wine estate.

On the palate, the attack is lively, carried by refined and elegant bubbles that delicately structure the whole. The profile is fresh and taut, marked by the fruity expression of fresh cherry and raspberry that characterizes this cuvée. The straightforward, well-balanced body evolves on the lingering finish towards a sensation of elegant purity, and the tension characteristic of Bouzy's chalky terroir.
