Wine Description

Morey-Coffinet 's Bourgogne Côte d'Or Pinot Noir comes from carefully selected parcels on the outskirts of Meursault and in the immediate vicinity of Volnay. This cuvée comes from 99-acre parcels in the Bourgogne Côte d'Or appellation area, cultivated by Thibault Morey with the same ambition as his finest crus. Planted in the localities of Au Village, Les Dressoles, Les Belles Côtes and En Vaux, these Pinot Noir vines, over 50 years old, draw their character from clay soils that give them structure and finesse. Certified organic viticulture, exclusively hand harvesting and natural winemaking ensure the most authentic expression possible.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : This Bourgogne Côte d'Or Pinot Noir from Morey Coffinet offers a very representative facet of the wine estate's style, despite its status as a "simple" regional cru. Accessible, combining immediate delicacy, finesse and structured freshness, this cuvée offers a true Burgundian signature, precise and elegant, ideal for accompanying simple, meticulous gastronomy. A cuvée that's a pleasure to savor!

On opening, the nose reveals an aromatic intensity dominated by seductive floral and fruity notes. Delicate violet and peony aromas are accompanied by morello cherry, raspberry and redcurrant. A spicy touch of star anise and black pepper completes this refined bouquet, while subtle notes of undergrowth and leather reveal an additional layer.

On the palate, the wine surprises with its finesse and silky tannins. The fruit expresses itself brilliantly around juicy cherry, enriched by floral nuances and a light, very noble animal touch. The balance is perfect between freshness and depth, with a mineral framework reminiscent of the finesse of Volnay terroirs. The finish is long and airy, with sweet spices and black fruits. This Burgundy Côte d'Or from Domaine Morey-Coffinet is one of those accessible, gourmet wines that can be enjoyed on any occasion.
