Wine Description
The Rully 1er Cru Préaux from Paul & Marie Jacqueson takes its name from a water source in the meadow, a natural irrigation system that protects the vines from water stress. The vines, planted in 1967 on limestone soils with a fine silt-clay fraction, are hand-harvested into crates with the utmost care. This cuvée, “ ,” is characterized by its great aromatic finesse, its luscious fruitiness, and its crisp acidity, which perfectly structures the palate.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: This Rully 1er Cru Préaux from Paul & Marie Jacqueson is truly first-rate—sincerely one of the finest I’ve tasted in a long time. The finesse of this wine reminds me of the finest Chambolle-Musignys. The structure is imposing without being excessive, and the bouquet is complex and subtle.
The nose reveals notes of raspberry, violet, plum, and white pepper, enriched by aromas of stewed black fruits. Hints of dried rose and cinnamon round out this complex bouquet, which displays remarkable elegance and finesse.
On the palate, it stands out for its fullness and velvety texture, supported by generous body and perfectly integrated ripe tannins. Balance is provided by a lively acidity that brings freshness and tension, while a subtle mineral thread accompanies a long, refined, and mouth-watering finish.
