Wine Description
The cuvée Tertre Rotebeuf is from the most beautiful plots of the large unclassified crus of Saint-Emilion. It is a wine that stands out for its balance, its gourmet and the flexibility of its tannins. This wine competes with the largest bordeaux and does not have to blush in front of the 1er grand crus classified like White Horse, Ausone, High Brion and many others. François Mijtavile is the author of this work, which has long been ignored and even blocked by the press. It was from the 1990s that his wines began to arouse curiosity among tasters. Today this wine is considered the most beautiful unclassified bordeaux ever produced.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : François Mitjavile has entered through the small door into the world of wines of Bordeaux in the 70s. He managed to make a name for himself with this Saint Emilion Tertre Rotebeuf. The plots that make up the assembly of this wine are all located in different places and the vines are cut in different ways. There is even a small plot in the shape of amphitheater at the foot of the cellar. It's the magic of Tertre Rotebeuf! François Mitjavile also chooses each of the barrels that will contain this wine and perform a custom heat and adapted to each vintage. A real great winemaker of Bordeaux.
The wine reveals notes of ripe black fruit. The grapes are picked at perfect maturity. It is an exuberant nose at the same time but of great elegance. The breeding is mastered to perfection as on all its wines.
In the palate, the matter is intense, greedy, tannins of great suavity. There are notes of coffee, blackcurrant, plum, a touch of black pepper. In short, a multitude of aromas that reveal themselves with subtlety.
