GOLD'R 2020 Vincent Gross | Alsace

The Gold'R cuvée from the Gross wine estate is an emblematic Alsace orange wine, made from a maceration of white grape varieties. This wine is made from Muscat, Riesling and Gewürztraminer grapes grown biodynamically on the Goldert Grand Cru. This terroir is characterized by marl-limestone soils rich in oolitic limestone, which gives both richness and complexity to the wine.

Philippe Mischler sommelier at Mundovin : After a 35-day maceration, fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, without the addition of sulfites or oenological inputs. Ageing continues for 18 months in large wooden tuns, giving the wine a complex structure and a unique aromatic expression.

The nose is captivating, marked by aromas of dried fruit (apricot, fig), candied citrus, black tea and sweet spices such as cinnamon and clove.

On the palate, the structure is ample and tannic, supported by a remarkable mineral freshness. The slightly chalky texture accompanies a long, vibrant finish, where notes of orange zest and stone fruit reappear. A gastronomic wine, complex and extraordinary.
