Louis 2019, Crémant d'Alsace Rémy & Vincent Gross | Alsace

The Crémant Louiscuvée from the Gross wine estate in Gueberschwihr, Alsace, is a blend of 60% Pinot Blanc and 40% Pinot Noir. The vines come from the chalky terroirs of the Diebmannswinkel area on the southern slopes of the Gueberschwihr commune, at an altitude of 320 meters. Aged on laths for 42 months, this Brut Nature cuvée develops a fine, persistent bubble that underlines the purity of fruit and aromatic complexity.

Philippe Mischler sommelier at Mundovin : Domaine Gross Crémant Louis is a generous sparkling wine with great precision. This balance is provided by the blend of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes, which give a straight, fresh structure throughout the tasting while retaining a very vinous side. This is one of the most easily digestible Crémants to be tasted in Alsace.

On the nose, the wine reveals intense aromas. Notes of mirabelle plum, hazelnut, orange peel and baked apple are clearly identifiable.

On the palate, the bubbles are fine and persistent. The wine's body is full-bodied, testifying to the ripeness of the grapes. Hints of cape gooseberry, almond and cinnamon. The finish is underlined by a fine minerality.
