Wine Description

The Riesling cuvée Colette from the Weinbach wine estate comes from old vines of the Grand Cru Schlossberg located in the lower part of the hillside. This is a wine that has been deliberately downgraded, not because of its quality, but because it doesn't meet the Faller family's criteria for a Schlossberg. Its profile is more fruity and fleshy than the "classic" Schlossberg wines.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The cuvée Colette from the Weinbach wine estate is a superb Riesling that's easy to drink young, unlike the wines from the Schlossberg Grand Cru, which are designed for aging. It's a tribute to Catherine's mother Colette, who was always a woman in the image of this wine: very elegant.

On the nose, the wine reveals notes of ripe yellow fruit, complemented by notes of passion fruit, candied citrus and a hint of menthol.

The palate is greedy and full-bodied, with perfectly balanced acidity and remarkable complexity. The finish is sapid, revealing lovely bitters that add aromatic persistence.
