Wine Description

Domaine Weinbach 's Sylvaner comes exclusively from the Clos des Capucins, the estate's flagship vineyard. The soil is composed of sandy loam over granite pebbles. The vines are over 80 years old. This Sylvaner is a superb gastronomic wine that goes perfectly with smoked fish. It's a totally dry wine, but one that expresses itself in a truly gourmet universe.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Sylvaner from the Weinbach wine estate is a wine of spontaneous pleasure, ideal for aperitifs and summer dishes. A true gourmet wine that can be enjoyed on many occasions. Nevertheless, it has great ageing potential, and can easily be kept for up to 10 years.

On the nose, the wine opens with discreet notes of black tea, fresh hazelnut, hints of greengage and acacia honey. The wine is by no means devoid of complexity, quite the contrary.

The palate is unctuous and full-bodied. Herbaceous notes, hints of smoke, dried hay and a finish of ripe yellow fruit.
