Wine Description

Antoine Lienhardt’s Gevrey-Chambertin is a faithful reflection of a legendary village, the birthplace of nine Grands Crus and the iconic symbol of the Côte de Nuits. Gevrey-Chambertin is located 15 kilometers south of Dijon, on the Route des Grands Crus in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. As a fourth-generation winemaker, Antoine quickly turned to organic viticulture and then biodynamics, and is now moving toward permaculture. A philosophy of radical non-intervention that places the terroir front and center, without artifice. Gevrey-Chambertin ranks among the estate’s most exclusive and coveted wines, characterized by a profile that is at once intense, powerful, spicy, and fresh.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Antoine Lienhardt’s Gevrey-Chambertin is a wine of exceptional richness. Behind the winemaker’s understated approach lies a wine of remarkable density, true to the appellation’s reputation for depth and structure, yet infused with an unconventional energy and freshness.

The nose opens with aromas of black cherry, supple leather, and warm earth in a deep, sensual profile, with that spicy note so characteristic of Gevrey’s clay-limestone soils, which give the wine its earthy and untamed character.

The palate is full-bodied, with firm tannins and a direct, energetic character, underscored by a lingering mineral tension. A vibrant and deep wine, with perfectly controlled intensity.
