Long description
Domaine Le Vieux Donjon is a family-run wine estate in the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation. It belongs to the Michel family, who have been producing wine for several generations. Initially, in the 1900s, the Le Vieux Donjon wine estate produced only to sell in bulk. This was not their main activity at the time, as they mainly produced barrels. At the end of the 70s, Lucien Michel decided to expand the wine estate, and now owns over 13 hectares of vines. Marie José, his wife and an agricultural engineer, developed the viticulture to produce top-quality wines. Lucien Michel was in charge of sales and marketing, and in the early 80s decided to sell 95% of his production for export - a difficult choice at the outset, but one the couple fully accepted.
Today , their children have taken over the wine estate. They are in the process of winning back the French market, which is constantly asking for their precious wines. Indeed, this wine estate produces some of the finest Châteauneuf du Pape wines for laying down. Consistency is their strength, but so is constant questioning to bring out the best in their different terroirs.
We're delighted to be able to offer you the only two wines in the range, both of which are extremely affordable in view of their quality.
