Long description

Domaine Robert Denogent is a Burgundy wine estate located in the commune of Fuissé in southern Burgundy. The Denogent family began winemakingat the beginning of the 20th centurywith just 5 hectares of vines. In 2006, Jean Jacques Robert Denogent's two sons took over, continuing the family tradition. It's in a very generous and accessible spirit that the two brothers wish to perpetuate the wine estate. However, they also put their own stamp on the wines, influenced by emblematic winemakers from the Jura, Savoie and, of course, Burgundy regions.

The wines are always sincere, gourmet and totally artisanal, with no compromise on quality. Antoine and Nicolas Denogent know how to adapt to the particularities of each vintage, with the sole aim of producing wines without artifice, make-up or inputs whenever possible.

For several years now, the wineestate has been cultivating 13 hectares of vines entirely according to biodynamic principles. They own around 30 parcels spread over more than 30 km from north to south between the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions. This great diversity of terroirs brings real complexity to the wines. Energy also lends a unique typicity to Robert Denogent wine estates. Soils of schist, limestone, clay, silt and sandstone are enhanced by the work of the two brothers to produce the quintessence of each terroir.

For the Robert Denogentwine estate , biodiversity has always been a major asset, keeping soils rich and alive and limiting the need for intervention. According to the Denogent family, the key to success is to support the plant by giving it every opportunity to develop using its own resources. Today, these methods are followed by many of the great Burgundy, French and international wine estates.

The cuvées we're lucky enough to be able to offer you are each more beautiful than the last, starting with the Mâcon Village Les Sardinescuvée , a taut, fresh and pure white wine that's one of my current favorites. Pouilly Fuissé La Croix is a magnificent, generous wine that's easy to enjoy when young. And then there's Saint Véran Les Pommards, a bombshell of minerality, crystal-clear as a bell. Nor can we forget Pouilly Fuissé 1er cru Vers Cras, a wine of mad complexity whose vines are almost a century old. We finish with the short-lived cuvée Pouilly Fuissé Climat , a blend of the wine estate's most prestigious plots, notably Clos Reyssié , which was not able to be made on a plot-by-plot basis for lack of yield, but will soon be again.
