Located in the heart of Burgundy, in the village of Cruzille, Clos des Vignes du Maynes is much more than just a vineyard: it's a veritable historical institution and a spearhead of natural viticulture. Founded in the 9th century by the monks of the Abbey of Cluny, this family-run wine estate is now passionately run by Julien Guillot, a leading figure in the French wine world. Since 1954, the vineyard has been farmed organically, long before this practice became fashionable, and has been certified biodynamic since 1998.

The vines, planted on clay-limestone soils rich in minerals such as aragonite, are nurtured with total respect for nature, and have never used chemicals. The wine estate covers around 7 hectares, with emblematic parcels such as Mâcon-Cruzille and Bourgogne Rouge Les Crays. One of the clos's treasures lies in its old Gamay, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines, some of which are over 80 years old. Low yields and hand harvesting guarantee grapes of exceptional quality.

Julien Guillot perpetuates ancestral winemaking methods: fermentation with indigenous yeasts, whole-cluster maceration and long ageing in barrels without adding sulfur. Each cuvée is a pure reflection of its terroir, with remarkable authenticity.

Clos des Vignes du Maynes wines are distinguished by their finesse, minerality and vibrant energy. Emblematic cuvées such as Mâcon Cruzille "Aragonite" or Bourgogne Rouge "Auguste" rival Burgundy's finest crus. On the palate, delicate aromas of red fruits and dried flowers, intense minerality and a silky texture seduce with every sip.

The domaine is attracting the attention of wine lovers the world over for its radical, sincere approach, placing Julien Guillot among the pioneers of Burgundy's natural wine revival.
