Long description
The Marquis d'Angerville is a historic Burgundy wine estate, with records of its existence dating back to 1507. It quickly made a name for itself in Volnay by acquiring the famous Clos des Ducs. Then, thanks to the work of Sem d'Angerville and Jacques d'Angerville, the wine estate gradually became the benchmark and emblem of the Volnay appellation.
Since its creation, the wine estate's aim has been to produce authentic wines with the utmost respect for the terroir. Jacques d'Angerville 's work has even led to his appointment as President of the Comité Interprofessionnel des Vins de Bourgogne. He has always been a major player in the promotion of Burgundy wines.
Since 2003, Guillaume d'Angerville has been at the helm of the Marquis d'Angerville wine estate. His aim is to perpetuate the family tradition, while bringing an even more natural touch to their approach. That's why, in 2006, the entire wine estate converted to biodynamic agriculture, a project that required a great deal of thought and wisdom.
The Marquis d'Angerville wine estate no longer uses any chemical products, in order to produce wines with the greatest respect for terroir and climate. The stakes are many.
The cuvées we are fortunate enough to be able to list in our cellar are red: Volnay1er cru Champans, Volnay1er cru Fremiet, Pommard1er cru Combes-Dessus and a white, Meursault1er cru Santenots.
Domaine Marquis d'Angerville is one of Burgundy's "crème de la crème" winemakers. Year after year, it asserts its position in the highest spheres of Burgundy wines, on a par with great winemakers such as Georges Roumier and Thibault Liger Belair.
