Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair 's Richebourg Grand Cru is a rare, precious cuvée from one of Burgundy's greatest terroirs, just 50 meters from Romanée-Conti. This exceptional plot, barely 0.55 hectares in size, is nestled in the southern part of the Richebourg climat, in Vosne-Romanée, on soils rich in red clay and limestone pebbles. Each vine, meticulously worked biodynamically, delivers the very essence of Pinot Noir: finesse, power and depth.
Thibault Liger-Belair is no ordinary winegrower. Heir to a prestigious winegrowing heritage, he embodies a new generation, combining respect for the living world with almost artistic precision in winemaking. This vintage has produced a Pinot Noir of great distinction, less solar than some of its predecessors, but of imperial elegance. Each bottle bears witness to the sensibility of the wine estate and the singularity of a mythical terroir. This is not a wine to drink: it's a wine to live.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair's Grand Cru Richebourg is one of those wines that leave a lasting impression. A wine for meditation as much as for great gastronomy, it never fully reveals itself on the first sip, but over time reveals exceptional depth. Thibault Liger-Belair's signature in this cuvée reinforces the precision of the Pinot Noir and gives this Richebourg a dazzling nobility.
On the nose, the wine unfolds slowly but intensely: aromas of black cherry, blackberry blueberry and stewed plum mingle delectably with subtle floral notes evoking violets. When, after aeration, notes of sandalwood, humus and a hint of licorice with a hint of menthol arrive, we plunge into a bewitching olfactory complexity. The whole is still young, but remarkably clean.
The palate is structured around a rare density, crossed by a mineral energy that asserts its origin. The fine texture of the tannins, present without being drying, contributes to the complex sensuality of this silky framework. Flavors of macerated black fruit, fresh pepper and black truffle are intensely present. Taste sensations follow one another in a sumptuous crescendo, culminating in a slender finish whose aroma evokes the freshness of undergrowth after rain: a true tribute to Burgundy.
