Wine Description

Domaine Jean Paul et Benoit Droin's Chablis is one of the estate's flagship cuvées , and certainly one of the best-known wines in the Chablis region. It is a blend of parcels located on both the left and right banks and facing north and south. The balance of this Chablis is quite simply remarkable, and places it at the highest level of the Village appellation.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The Chablis from the Jean Paul et Benoit Droin wine estate sets an example in this respect. It is the driving force behind Chablis Village thanks to its consistent quality, even in difficult vintages. The vines are 35 years old on average, and are tended by regular but shallow ploughing.

On the nose, the wine opens with citrus notes, hints of white flowers, dried fruit and sweet spices. A wine that expresses itself fully in its first few years and needs no special ageing.

The palate oscillates between generosity and minerality. A dry wine with tremendous tension and remarkable precision. Its great aromatic persistence and salinity give it extraordinary length on the palate.
