Wine Description
The Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru of the domain of the Gold Pousse is from a parcel situated just above the famous Montrachet. The Chardonnays flourish here facing the rising at an altitude of nearly 300 meters for the highest vines. The characteristic terroir of Chevalier consists of thin and stony soils for an intense minerality in the juices, sought in this Grand Cru.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : What an amazing power! Rare are the Chardonnays, even from the most beautiful exhibitions, to reveal such a precise definition of the terroir. There is no doubt, from the first nose, it is the Knight Montrachet.
On the nose, the wine reveals notes of butter croissants, dried fruits, honey, lime but also beautiful touches of fresh fruit such as white peach or citrus notes.
The mouth is just sublime. The mineral frame which underlies the whole is confirmed at the tasting. Wine is a remarkable balance between depth, suavity and tension. We enter here into the sphere of the very great wines of the world...
