Wine Description

The "L'Ensemble" Pinot Noir cuvée from the Nicolas-Jay wine estate embodies the harmonious alliance between Burgundian savoir-faire and the unique expression of Oregon terroir. Founded by Jean-Nicolas Méo, renowned winemaker at Domaine Méo-Camuzet , and Jay Boberg, an influential entrepreneur in the music industry, Domaine Nicolas-Jay is dedicated to producing wines that reflect both French tradition and the richness of Willamette Valley vineyards

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : The "L'Ensemble" cuvée is the result of a rigorous selection of the estate's best parcels, spread over several AVAs (American Viticultural Areas) in the Willamette Valley, including Dundee Hills, Eola-Amity Hills and Yamhill-Carlton. These vineyards, cultivated according to organic, biodynamic or LIVE-certified practices, benefit from a variety of soils, from iron-rich volcanic soils to sedimentary soils, giving the wine remarkable complexity and depth.

On the nose, the bouquet is expressive and complex, blending aromas of fresh red berries, rhubarb, elegant red flowers and a touch of blood orange zest. Hints of Provençal herbs and a subtle influence of French oak enrich the whole.

On the palate, the wine offers a silky attack and a medium structure that gradually tightens, revealing lively acidity and remarkable density. Crisp red fruit flavors are supported by spicy nuances and chalky minerality, leading to a long, elegant finish. A perfect balance of freshness, complexity and ageing potential.
