Wine Description

Domaine Monier Perréol 's Saint-Joseph Châtelet comes from the parcel of the same name, whose granitic soils and south-facing exposure give the Syrah optimal ripeness.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: The Saint-Jospeh Châtelet from the Monier Perréol wine estate could be compared to a 1er Cru of the appellation, so much so that its balance and complexity surpass the standards of the sector. Less accessible in its youth than the cuvée Les Serves, it will nevertheless age admirably for at least 15 years.

Still a little austere and sanguine in its youth, the wine reveals a beautiful aromatic intensity that will blossom after 4 to 5 years on notes of black fruit and noble spices.

The palate reflects the biodynamic work carried out at the wine estate: full-bodied and juicy, with silky tannins, acidity that perfectly counterbalances the wine's richness and a rare balance, with accents of black fruit, leather and cocoa.
