Wine Description

Cuvée Le Château is the latest parcel-based cuvée from the Vincent Pinard wine estate. For many years, these vines were blended in the Nuance cuvée. In other words, the 1974 vines have finally found their place, and this cuvée is a real success. The success of this cuvée is largely due to Clément and Florent's thoughtful observation and testing of this plot's production. Indeed, isolating the plot and making a specific cuvée from it was a wise choice in the end. The complexity of this parcel is astonishing, and it would have gone too unnoticed in a blend. All those who tasted this wine fell in love with it.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: To preserve the wine's complexity, ageing is done in demi-muids, barrels they particularly like for their moderate oxygen intake and gentle temperature variation. A deep, full-bodied wine, a top-class Sancerre.

The nose is very pleasant, with notes of white fruit and ripe citrus (candied lemon, pineapple). The aromatic intensity is perfectly controlled, a nose of beauty that gives way to a hint of minerality. A seductive nose that makes you want to go on tasting.

Fresh on the palate, the wine's fullness develops, giving way to hints of toast, hazelnut and smokiness. The finish ends beautifully on a saline note that brings great depth and a complexity rare in Sancerre.
