Aléofane
The Aléofane wine estate is very young. It was created in 2004 by Natacha Chave, a talented winemaker. Before creating this project, she studied and interned in various regions of France. She finally decided to settle in the Saint-Joseph appellation, and then bought some magnificent plots in Crozes-Hermitage. She now owns just over 6.5 hectares of vines grown entirely organically and using biodynamic preparations.
Natacha Chave's main aim is to produce wines with the greatest possible respect for the environment and with the least possible intervention during winemaking and ageing.
Her wines are extremely gourmet. For her red wines, she infuses rather than extracts. This gives the wine incomparable finesse and balance.
The Crozes Hermitage red and Saint Joseph red cuvées are real jewels, to be discovered in their youth.
The white Crozes Hermitage cuvée is simply sublime, and unfortunately far too rare as we have only a few bottles available.
For the record, the wine estate's name refers to an imaginary island in John Macmillan Brown's book. On this island, beverages such as wine are considered rare gems and the most precious things in the world.
