Saint Préfert
Isabel Ferrando is an atypical winemaker, coming as she does from the world of finance. It was only in 2000 that she decided to leave everything behind and return to her roots. She already had a passion for wine, particularly the great meursaults from the famous Coche Dury wine estate. It was finally through an almost chance meeting with the Serre family that she decided to acquire vines in the prestigious Châteauneuf du Pape appellation. Aware of the quality of the terroir of the Saint Préfert estate, Isabel Ferrando developed her knowledge of viticulture. Not least thanks to numerous meetings, tastings and cellar trials. Today, the Châteauneuf du Pape wines from the Saint Préfert wine estate are distinguished by their extraordinary finesse.
The construction of a new winemaking cellar has greatly assisted Isabel Ferrando in the development of her viticulture. She has also converted the entire wine estate to organic farming to give herself the means to achieve her ambitions. The aim: to preserve the integrity of her terroirs of galets roulets (pebbles) and bring out the wine's vibrant fruitiness.
The different wines produced at the wine estate reflect the diversity of Saint Préfert's terroirs. I'm thinking in particular of the cuvée Classique and the exceptional Collection Charles Giraud. Both of these wines boast an impressive precision and balance rarely seen in the Châteauneuf du Pape area.
