Long description

Nestled in the heart of the emblematic Chablis vineyards, Château de Béru is run byAthénaïs de Béru, who took over her father's vineyards in 2006. This visionary winemaker initiated a decisive transition for the wine estate, opting in particular for biodynamic viticulture. Château de Béru is a prestigious wine estate that has been cultivating vines since the 17th century.

The vineyard extends over the slopes of the famous Chablis Grands Crus. It includes a central island, the famous Clos Béru, a unique terroir surrounded by ancestral walls built in the 13th century. Other parcels such as Le Montserre, L'Orangerie and La Côte aux Prêtres are located around the Béru hill, forming a mosaic of limestone terroirs nestled at an altitude of around 300 meters.

In 2010, Athénaïs de Béru made the bold choice of Demeter-certified biodynamic viticulture. She has replaced systemic products with biodynamic preparations and plant infusions to protect the vines against cryptogamic diseases. At the wine estate, light ploughing has been carried out for years with horses, promoting a natural balance in the surrounding flora and fauna, and strengthening the vines' natural defences.

In the cellar, the meticulous work continues with winemaking that respects the grapes. Natural fermentations with indigenous yeasts and the absence of oenological inputs have become the rule in the cellar, testifying to Château de Béru's absolute commitment to the authentic expression of its terroir in each of its cuvées.
