Jean-Claude Bessin vinified his first vintage in 1992. Since then, he has continued to perfect his art, earning a reputation as one of the great names in Chablis. With the arrival of his son Romain, the wine estate has taken another step towards excellence. Romain, a passionate innovator, introduced biodynamic principles to the cultivation of the vines, resulting in finer, more authentic and environmentally-friendly wines.

The Chablis terroir, known for its soils rich in marly limestone and fossilized oyster shells, gives the wines a distinctive and sought-after minerality. The vines of the Bessin wine estate, ideally exposed for optimum sunshine, benefit from these exceptional conditions to express their full complexity and unique character.

The wine estate's winemaking methods are carefully designed to sublimate these terroirs.
