Nestled in Courgis, near Chablis in Burgundy, Domaine de la Petite Empreinte embodies a new generation of passionate, committed winemakers. Founded in 2020 by Mélissa Bazin and Romain De Moor, this 0.76-hectare wine estate spans the communes of Saint-Bris-le-Vineux and Vincelottes. Grape varieties grown include Pinot Noir, Gamay and Sauvignon Blanc, reflecting the diversity of the Coteaux Bourguignons terroirs.
Mélissa, originally from Ardèche, honed her skills with winemakers such as Sylvain Bock and at the Labet wine estate in the Jura. Romain, son of Alice and Olivier de Moor, honed his skills with Jean-François Ganevat and at the family wine estate, also in Courgis. Their meeting and shared passion for respectful viticulture gave birth to this ambitious project.
As a young wine estate, the plots have been in conversion to organic farming since 2020, and are managed according to the agroforestry model, with particular attention paid to biodiversity and soil health. The vines are worked by hand, using natural fertilizers. In the cellar, winemaking is carried out with a minimum of intervention, without the addition of sulfur, in order to combine the authentic expression of the grape varieties with respect for the terroir.
Among their cuvées,"Tapis Rouge" is a Pinot Noir from the Bourgogne Côtes d'Auxerre appellation, offering an elegant expression of the grape variety. "Màs a Tierra", a Pinot Noir from the Coteaux Bourguignons, expresses elegant structure and complex aromas. "Gamay", their second cuvée in the Côteaux Bourguignons appellation, stands out for its expression of the grape variety, and the emotion it transmits. Finally,"Persévérance" is a carefully vinified Sauvignon Blanc, revealing the freshness and minerality of its terroir.
