Wine Description
Blanc de Blancs from the Alessandra Divella wine estate is a sparkling wine produced on Franciacorta terroirs in Lombardy. The Chardonnay vines are planted on terroirs dominated by limestone and clay. This is the first cuvée in Alessandra's range, and one of the finest Italian bubbles of the moment. Its minerality and aromatic depth give the impression of tasting a superb vintage champagne.
Mischler Philippe, sommelier at Mundovin : The Blanc de Blancs produced by Alessandra Divella is one of the wines most representative of the wine estate's style. The grapes are pressed by hand using a very old press. Maceration is light, and the wine is aged on laths for 33 months. No dosage at all for this cuvée, as for all the others from the wine estate.
On the nose, this Italian bubbly reveals comforting notes of hazelnut, buttery brioche, a hint of noble cider and hints of aniseed. A nose of absolute elegance that defies the finest vintage Champagnes.
On the palate, the attack is very creamy, then the acidity gradually caresses the palate, revealing a dazzling acidity. The energy of the bubbles is so pure that they could be described as crystalline. A superb effervescent from a great winemaker.
