Located in Villié-Morgon, the vines are rooted in the crumbly granite soils of the Morgon appellation in northern Beaujolais, where Gamay grapes find remarkably intense expression. This cuvée pays tribute to Marcel Lapierre, a visionary figure who left his mark on the winegrowing landscape in the 1980s, opposing standardized wines in favor of straightforward, unadorned juice. The grapes come from vines that are an average of 45 years old, organically cultivated using biodynamic practices, and harvested by hand, with meticulous attention paid to each vine. The philosophy of Domaine Marcel Lapierre has always been the same: let the grape, the place and the vintage speak for themselves. Winemaking is faithful to the Lapierre method, with no sulfur added at bottling, semi-carbonic maceration and ageing in old foudres to preserve the freshness and energy of the fruit.

The nose reveals a charming bouquet of ripe Gamay: black cherry, sweet licorice and fresh violets mingle with touches of rose and juicy raspberry, the signature of Morgon crus. A lightly woody, balsamic note lingers in the background, bringing depth and elegance to the whole.

Dense and seductive on the palate, with silky tannins supporting concentrated, pure fruit. Well-balanced acidity gracefully counterbalances the roundness, giving the whole a pleasing dynamic. The cherry and licorice flavors are enhanced by a floral and mineral touch reminiscent of the parcel's granite soil.
