Wine Description

The Brut Réserve champagne cuvée from Domaine Bérêche et Fils is a blend of the 3 grape varieties in almost equal proportions. Chardonnay represents 35%, Pinot Meunier 35% and Pinot Noir 30%. Every year, 30% reserve wine is added to the final blend.

The vines are planted on the terroirs of Ludes, Ormes, Mareuil le Port and Trepail

Fermentation takes place on fine lees in non-new oak barrels. This is followed by ageing on laths for around 36 months, depending on the vintage.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : Bérêche champagnes are always impeccable, whatever the cuvée you taste. The Brut Réserve cuvée is a superb introduction to the wine estate's Champagne wines. It's a champagne of precision and tension, and it's easy to see why connoisseurs the world over are snapping it up. The Champagne Brut Réserve de Bérêche has everything going for it, and shows that it's at the top of the brut sans années range.

On the nose, notes of tangy red fruit are prominent. All this is complemented by pretty touches of quince, star anise, fresh almond and a hint of cranberry.

The palate is pure, fine and dense. The aromas are intense and complex. There are lovely notes of red fruit and a hint of smoke. The acidity is present throughout, and the finish is sapid.
