Domaine Dureuil Janthial 's Rully Blanc Maizières comes from a parcel of Chardonnay planted in 1997 in this sunny location. The word Maizières comes from the Latin Maceria, meaning dry stone wall. The construction of this wall dates back to Gallo-Roman times, and began near Chagny.
It's a white wine from the Côte Chalonnaise region with a very precise, mineral profile.
Philippe Mischler sommelier at Mundovin : The Maizières climat is a superb Rully climat located in the heart of the appellation and composed of a complex terroir. Thanks to the talent of Vincent Dureuil Janthial, this wine has been sublimated to a quality never before experienced in this Burgundy cru.
On the nose, the wine develops lovely aniseed notes, floral hints and a hint of pastry, bringing greediness to the whole and making you want to go on tasting.
On the palate, the wine is very smooth, with delicate acidity caressing the palate throughout. There are lovely aromas of yellow fruit, lemon verbena and a frangipane finish. A magnificent interpretation of the Maizières parcel.
