Cuvée 746 from Champagne Jacquesson is one of the emblematic creations of this renowned house of excellence. The cuvée number refers to the sequence number assigned to each new cuvée produced by the house, underlining its focus on quality and the specificity of each vintage.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Maison Jacquesson's cuvée 746 comes from the 2018 harvest, a generous harvest with good ripeness and moderate acidity. Cuvée 746 is the result of a blend of 43% Chardonnay, 30% Meunier and 27% Pinot Noir, 68% from the terroirs of Aÿ, Dizy and Hautvillers and 32% from those of Avize and Oiry.
The nose of Cuvée 746 is rich and complex. White-fleshed fruit aromas such as apple and pear are present, complemented by notes of dried fruit, brioche, honey and occasional hints of citrus. The aromatic complexity is the result of aging on lees and blending reserve wines.
On the palate, this champagne is characterized by balance and finesse. The texture is often creamy, underlining the quality of the reserve wines integrated into the blend. Flavors of ripe fruit, hazelnut, honey and brioche blend harmoniously. Lively acidity adds welcome freshness, and the finish is long and persistent.
