Wine Description

The Beaune 1er Cru Les Montrevenots white from the Clos du Moulin aux Moines wine estate is a cuvée produced from the Les Montrevenots parcel located on a limestone plateau just below the Montagne Saint-Désiré. This wine benefits from an exceptional geographical location, between the prestigious Clos des Mouches and the Pommard Premier Cru Clos Orgelot Monopole. This first vintage of 2022 reveals a Beaune 1er Cru with fine, nuanced aromas, produced organically and biodynamically with respect for the environment and terroir.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: Les Montrevenots, classified as a Premier Cru, lies on a limestone plateau overlooking the valley, close to the Montagne Saint-Désiré and to the west of the village of Beaune. This terroir benefits from ideal exposure, allowing the Chardonnay to fully express its qualities of freshness and complexity. The parcel was replanted in 2017 and 2022 is its very first vintage, marked by the production of a wine of great purity and precision.

The nose is extremely fresh, with subtle floral aromas of white flowers such as acacia and lime blossom and fresh white fruit accompanied by mineral nuances and a delicate touch of fresh butter. This aromatic expression is both complex and refined, offering a perfect balance between fruit and minerality.

On the palate, this Beaune 1er Cru reveals a lively, fresh attack, with elegant structure and rich body. The minerality of the terroir is particularly noticeable, bringing vibrancy to the wine, while the texture is silky and slightly creamy, due to ageing in sandstone jars. The finish is long, marked by persistent freshness and discreet salinity, typical of great terroir wines.
