Pommard 1er Cru Les Pézerolles from the Clos du Moulin aux Moines wine estate is located in the northern part of Pommard, close to the commune of Beaune. This is the finest premier cru in Pommard, often producing feminine, graceful wines that are paradoxically closer to Volnay, despite being located on the other side of the village. The parcel is located in the heart of the cru, the best part of what used to be Le Clos de Pézerolles.

Its floral aromas and subtle blend of red and black berries give this Pommard a rather light and slender frame. Pommard Les Pézerolles is a cuvée that stands out for its precision and evolutionary potential. Accessible in its youth after generous aeration, it will reveal all its complexity after 8 to 15 years of cellaring.

The bouquet is complex and evolving. It opens with aromas of ripe red and black fruits such as cherry, redcurrant and blackcurrant, enhanced by delicate floral notes of violet and dried rose. On aeration, spicy nuances of white pepper, subtle woody accents and a touch of cocoa and licorice enrich the whole.

On the palate, the attack is frank and concentrated. The velvety texture envelops the palate, supported by silky, well-presented tannins. The balance between acidity and tannic structure gives the wine remarkable freshness. Flavors of stewed black fruit, truffle and undergrowth blend harmoniously with mineral notes, offering great depth and remarkable persistence.
