Pic-Saint-Loup L'Olivette du Clos Marie owes its name to its vines planted on a very old olive grove. While the blend may vary according to the vintage, it remains composed mainly of Grenache and Syrah. Christophe Peyrus has been managing this wine estate for several years: the vines are cultivated according to biodynamic principles, and the harvest is always carried out by hand to ensure that only perfectly healthy grapes remain.

Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin: L'Olivette du Clos Marie is one of the most affordable wines in the wine estate's range, both in terms of price and drinkability. Its silky texture and well-developed tannins in its youth give it a true Languedoc character, which the particular climate of the parcel enhances with powerful aromas and a beautiful generosity on the palate, without losing any of its finesse. The terroir expresses itself with authenticity in this fruity cuvée.

The nose is very expressive, with notes of spices, garrigue and aromatic plants. A touch of black tapenade and fresh licorice enrich the juicy black fruit flavors.

On the palate, the patina of time begins to take its toll on the generous body, whose well-melted tannins coat the palate with elegance. The wine reveals a superb balance of black fruits, spices and tertiary notes.
