1769 blanc is one of the white emblems of the ambitious Clos Venturi project, located in Ponte-Leccia, in the heart of Haute-Corse. The biodynamically grown Vermentino vines thrive at an altitude of 400 meters, between mountain ranges and sea breezes, on a terroir of decomposed granite typical of the region. This cuvée aptly expresses the wine estate's island identity: a sought-after balance between freshness, structure and aromatic expression.
Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin : "For me, 1769 Blanc Clos Venturi is the perfect gateway to the most precise white wines Corsica has to offer, designed to reflect the distinctive character of Vermentino in the Corsican mountains. This cuvée combines the straightforwardness of the grape variety with a restrained, almost tranquil energy. This wine doesn't try to do too much: it tells the story of a place, a climate, a method. A firm, sensitive hand behind a noble grape variety. It can be enjoyed young, but also shows great ageing potential.
On the nose, the wine opens with clear aromas of Williams pear, nectarine and white flowers, slightly enhanced by notes of lemon peel. On the second nose, we perceive a touch of aniseed and a discreet but present minerality. The whole evokes a sensation of freshness and élan, without ostentation.
The palate is structured, carried by a fine natural acidity. We find the crunchy pear of the nose, accompanied by hints of lemon and wild fennel. The Vermentino expresses itself here in a precise, fine-grained body, stretched by a persistent finish on notes of candied citrus fruit. The wine evolves subtly with aeration, without ever becoming heavy. For lovers of island wines, this is a fine introduction to the demanding and sincere world of Clos Venturi.
